A shared record, kept by neighbors.
OurBeacon exists to help bring our community together: a shared understanding of what's happening in town, and direct ways to connect around it.
Think of it as a bridge between the digital and the real. A website can't replace knowing each other in person, and it shouldn't try. What it can do is make those real connections easier to start: surface what's going on, give neighbors a common set of facts, and point to the rooms where decisions get made.
We're starting small, by making town government easier to follow: plain-language meeting recaps, development projects tracked over time, and your officials with their actual voting records. It also means keeping an eye on the daily police blotter and upcoming events. The more of us who know what's on the table, the better our town conversations get.

We've started an OurBeacon Discord server — a friendly place to meet fellow Beacon residents and talk through what's happening in town. It's also the best place to tell us what's useful, what's confusing, and what you wish existed.

A work in progress
We're still working hard to make sure the record is complete and correct, so please bear with us if you spot an inaccuracy along the way — and when you do, tell us on Discord so we can fix it.
